As the weather gets a little colder and thanksgiving approaches you may want to try your hand at making your own pie for the family dinner. The great debate begins as you decide between pumpkin or apple? No worries we have you covered for both! Check out these awesome easy recipes.

Pumpkin pie

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon salt
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 2
Whisk pumpkin puree, condensed milk, eggs, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt together in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust.
Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until a knife inserted 1 inch from the crust comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
Step 5
Let cool before serving.

Apple Pie

¾ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon lemon zest
7 cups thinly sliced apples
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
4 tablespoons milk (Optional)

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 2
Mix together the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon peel.
Step 3
Line one crust in a 9-inch deep-dish pie pan. Layer 1/3 of apples into pie crust. Sprinkle with sugar mixture and repeat until done. Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.
Step 4
Place second pie crust on top of filling and flute the edges. Cut vents in top crust and brush with milk for a glazed appearance if desired.
Step 5
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 40 to 50 minutes.
