New Walkway
Edmonton now has a walkway that is now part of a international connection of 1000 km of walkable path that links 100 cities and marks 2000 points of significance. The 10 km loop running for the Funicular to Groat Road and includes paths to the Indigenous Art Park, John Walter Museum and Alberta Legislature. It was launched in September and was championed by Lieutenant Governor Lois E. Mitchell. HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne came to Edmonton last year to announce the walkway and unveil the first marker of the Commonwealth Walkway.
